Thursday Thoughts - 03/30/2023
Here are my Thursday Thoughts, a short list of the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.
What I Watched:
$2 Beef Patty Vs. $689 Lobster Tower w/ Simu Liu
Worth It is a YouTube series that compares the same food at three different price points. In this episode, Simu Liu takes the hosts on a food tour of his city, Toronto. Instead of trying the same dish three times, Simu goes to his favorite spots for three unique experiences.
I’ve been fascinated with Toronto since hearing Drake rap about it. This episode confirms all the hype built up over the years. If I had to pick a favorite dish, it would be the Khao Soi at the middle price point.
Kim’s Convenience
After watching Worth It, I got curious about Simu Liu. So I dug around his Wikipedia page. This led me to Kim’s Convenience. I binged four seasons within the past week. It’s a light and funny comedy about an Asian family. I found it to be a great way to unwind in the evenings.
A Massive Upgrade To ChatGPT! (This is Crazy)
Matt Wolfe goes over the latest updates with ChatGPT and upcoming plugins. I still don’t fully grasp the full potential of generative AI the use cases in this video helps.
I was impressed by the use of Wolfram Alpha and InstaCart to calculate the calories in a recipe and place all ingredients in a shopping cart. I am also excited for the data sorting functions in GPT4. I wanted to learn Python to do data analysis. But it looks like I can just ask GPT4 my data questions and not have to learn how to code.
