What I'm Doing Now

Welcome to my now page. This is what I’m currently up to:

1st Year Teacher

I switched from engineering to teaching in the fall of 2025. I’m about 3/4 of the way through my first year. It’s been challenging yet rewarding. I feel better in my 2nd semester than my first one. I still have lots to learn and improve on, which is great.

DIY Bookcase

I built a wood bookcase to fill in the gap under the countertop. I used the tools at the schools workshop to cut the pieces and assembled it at home. It was harder than I thought to get everything lined up perfectly. The joints at the top corner had a gap that I had to fill with wood shavings and glue. It was a good beginner woodworking project.

Closing Trading Accounts

I closed my brokerage and cryptocurrency trading accounts. I had a 3 month plan to learn how to trade profitably. But I couldn’t find the time to do it. So I decided to stop the trading, at least for now.

I moved the money to cash and will transition it to my Roth IRA. My investments are now focused on long term retirement. I am in boring ETFS following KISS from 42Macro.

I am using the attention and time to work on writing and teaching.

Kids

My oldest is in the middle of her terrible twos. There are a lot of tantrums. We are working through acknowledging emotions but not indulging her. She is mostly potty trained but has accidents every now and then.

My youngest just turned one. He can pull himself up and walk along the couch. He is babbling but can’t quite say dada or mama yet.
