Leon's List - 2024 Week 4

Leon’s List is a weekly post about waiver wire players I’m keeping an eye on.

Will Levis has not been having a great year.

Through three games, he has five interceptions and three fumbles. Two of those picks were returned for touchdowns. He has been meme’d every week for boneheaded plays.

In three weeks, Levis has 37.8 fantasy points.

The defenses that Levis faced in those three weeks (CHI, NYJ, GB) scored a combined 56 fantasy points.

Has there been anyone that scores more fantasy points for the opposing defense than Levis? Maybe Jameis Winston in 2019 (30 for 30)? Or Bryce Young last year?

The Titans play Miami in Week 4. You know where my FAAB is going.

On to the list for Week 4:

Cordarelle Patterson (PIT - RB)

Both Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren are banged up for the Steelers. The next man up is Cordarelle Patterson.

I usually don’t have high expectations for third string running backs. But the Steelers don’t want Justin Fields throwing 40 times in a game. They want to run the ball and rely on their defense.

They will lean on Patterson if Harris and Warren can’t go. Patterson is also familiar with Arthur Smith’s scheme from his time in Atlanta.

Jalen Nailor (WR - MIN)

Jalen Nailor is on the list again this week.

Jordan Addison might come back this week but it’s yet to be determined. It looks like TJ Hockenson isn’t coming back until Week 7. There’s not a lot of targets for Sam Darnold on this team other than Justin Jefferson.

Nailor has 3 touchdowns in 3 weeks. He is becoming a reliable receiver in this hot offense.

Cole Kmet (TE - CHI)

Caleb Williams threw the ball 52 times last week. It seems like the Bears are taking off the training wheels and letting him loose.

One of the biggest winners from this development is Cole Kmet. Kmet caught 10 passes for 97 yards and touchdown last week.

Kmet is a big target and will bail Williams out when he needs to scramble or get rid of the ball. This will happen a lot as the Bears offensive line is terrible.

Miami Defensive

See the opening paragraph about Will Levis. Every defense he has faced has scored 11 fantasy points or more. I don’t expect a defense with Calais Campbell and Jalen Ramsey to do worse than that.

The Dolphins defense could be a two week play as they the Patriots in Week 5. It doesn’t matter if it’s Drake Maye or Jacoby Brissett, I expect the New England offense to be bad either way.
