Heart of America
“Heart of America” by Leon Chan
This week’s stories come from the American Midwest, or the heart of America. These articles bring back some fond and not so fond memories of my time in Chicago.
What I’ve Read:
The Woman Who Froze in Fargo | Grantland
A bizarre and intriguing tale of a woman’s mysterious death in Fargo, North Dakota. It’s ironic that she was led to Fargo a fictional film based on a “true story”; and yet her true story is being altered for “artistic purposes.”
Survive 24 Hours in O’Hare | Chicago Magazine
Although I haven’t spent 24 hours at O’Hare consecutively, I have probably been there 24 hours cumulatively. The author does an excellent job of exploring all the ins and outs of the airport and capturing the dread of staying at an airport for an extended period of time.
What I’ve Heard:
5 Morning Rituals That Help Me Win The Day | Tim Ferriss
This short podcast is full of useful hints. I’ve taken one of the rituals and implemented into my daily life. I haven’t done it every morning but when I do, it feels good to know I completed at least one task that day.
