Thursday Thoughts - 08/10/2023
Here are my Thursday Thoughts, a short list of the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.

What I Played:
Poetry for Neanderthals
Poetry for Neanderthals is a card game created by the makers of Exploding Kittens. Players take turns helping their team guess the word on their card. The catch? Only one-syllable words are allowed. It’s like Taboo but every word with more than one syllable is a banned.
My friends and I had a blast playing it last weekend. This game has a simple concept that proves challenging difficult in practice.
What I Watched:
Hijack
Hijack stars Idris Elba as a highly skilled negotiator trapped on a hijacked plane. Unlike typical heroes, he’s not driven by altruism. His singular goal? Land the plane and return to his family. The seven episode series mirrors the seven hour flight from Dubai to London.
My wife and I binged the entire series in a week. We had a lot of fun speculating about the unfolding plot between episodes.
What I’m Keeping an Eye On:
Onchain Summer
Coinbase recently launched their own layer 2 chain on Ethereum. To mark the event, they kicked off their “Onchain Summer” celebration.
This event showcases affordable NFT releases from major brands in both traditional and web3 sectors. By the time you read this newsletter, DeeKay Motion, a prominent web3 animator, will have released an open edition NFT on Base. Heavyweights like Coca Cola, Atari, and OpenSea also have their mints lined up for the event.
DeeKay’s creations have always been out of my price range, so I’m thrilled about the chance to own a piece during this landmark event.
