Thursday Thoughts - 07/21/2022

In this short newsletter, I share the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.

What I’ve Read:

Simple and Sinister | Pavel Tsatsouline

My old training routine was getting stale. Therefore, I wanted to find a new one that was straightforward and highly effective. After some internet research (Google), I found Simple and Sinister.

This routine calls for 10 sets of 10 kettlebell swings followed by 10 sets of Turkish get ups. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the entire work out.

It’s only been two weeks but I’m enjoying the new workout so far.

What I’ve Heard:

Doing Content Right with Steph Smith | The Digital Writing Podcast

This is a great podcast episode that covers a wide selection of topics about writing, SEO, and marketing.

I liked Steph Smith’s idea of setting up an Ulysses contract to maintain a healthy information diet. She used this concept to limit the number of newsletters she subscribed to and the amount of accounts to follow on Twitter. This concept reminds me of Effortless and the idea of setting lower and upper bounds for activities.

What I’m Pondering:

“We read for the pleasure of thinking another person’s thoughts.”
