Thursday Thoughts - 02/16/2023
Here are my Thursday Thoughts, a short list of the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.
What I Read:
Travelling just for the people
Derek Sivers writes a short post about why he changed his views on traveling.
I am fascinated when people change their minds on a subject. I like learning about the process they took to get there. It makes me questions my views on the subject and whether or not I think their ideas are worth adopting.
I see the point Derek Sivers makes in this post. My wife and I did travel just to see her sister last year. But I also travel to see landmarks, explore cultures, and eat delicious food.
How should you talk to ChatGPT? A User’s Guide
Tyler Cowan offers tips on how to prompt ChatGPT for better responses in this post.
I still haven’t tried the AI chat bot yet despite it being all over my feeds. It seems like AI is the future in some shape or form. Google and Microsoft have made big plays in the space. So I doubt it’s a passing trend.
I intend to dive in at some point. When I do, I’ll make sure to have this guide handy.
What I Listened to:
Running x Remix
This playlist on Spotify is great for running. It’s full of today’s top hits remixed with fast beats.
I listened to this playlist while on a 7 mile run earlier this week.I posted my best 5k and 10k times on this run. I can’t say it was all due to the music but it definitely helped.
What I’m Pondering:
“One sign that determination matters more than talent: there are lots of talented people who never achieve anything, but not that many determined people who don’t.”
Paul Graham
