What I’ve Read:
How to Want Less
This is a fascinating article on why people always want more. The author does a great job exploring the subject with various examples including homeostasis and addiction.
I liked that the piece ended with suggestions on how to get off the hedonic treadmill and want less. Those suggestions were:
- Help others over attaining high status
- Compare how extrinsic desires compete with intrinsic wants
- Pay attention to the small everyday things
What I’ve Watched:
Your First 5 Tools for Building Fame, Money, & Respect
I wished this video was made before I purchased power tools for my DIY home renovations. After watching this video, I have a bit of regret. I should have followed my gut and bought one quality cordless drill over an entire set with tools that I barely use.
However, I am glad that I watched the video now. There are some essentials that I still need to get such as the combo square, drill bits, and screw bits.
