Thursday Thoughts - 03/02/2023

Here are my Thursday Thoughts, a short list of the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.

What I Watched:

Raoul’s Unified Thesis on NFTs

Raoul Pal is a former hedge fund manager specializing in macroeconomics. He founded Real Vision in 2014 to share his financial knowledge with the world. He has gotten into cryptocurrencies and NFTs in recent years. In this video, Pal does a tremendous job laying out his vision for NFTs and Web3.

I found Pal’s analogies between different crypto assets to counterparts in traditional finance useful. It helped guide me in developing my own crypto portfolio allocations.

What I Read:

Some personal user experiences

Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, writes a short blog post about his experiences using Ethereum in the real world. This piece illustrates how far crypto has come from its early days. It also shows how far it still has to go until mainstream adoption occurs.

I am encouraged that Buterin has thought about this and hopefully those in the Web3 space are taking this into consideration.

What I Played

Axie Infinity: Homeland

Axie Infinity just launched its second season of land gameplay. The game does not feel like it’s in alpha. The game loops are fun and rewarding. I am constantly optimizing my farm to get to the next level quicker.

I find myself spending way too much time playing this game. The added AXS awards this season does not help in taming my play time.

What I’m Pondering:

“You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.”
