Leon's List - 2023 Week 8

Leon’s List is a weekly post about waiver wire players I’m keeping an eye on.

Zach Wilson (QB - NYJ)

The Jets schedule is relatively soft for the next three weeks. They will be playing the Giants, Chargers, and Raiders. Zach Wilson has been decent in last three games before the bye, posting an average of 13 fantasy points per game. He is probably one of the best streamers given how shallow the QB pool is in superflex leagues.

Malik Willis (QB - TEN)

Ian Rapoport reported that Ryan Tannehill is unlikely to play this week against the Falcons. The Titans have not mentioned a starter yet, but I like Malik Willis in this spot. There’ll be a solid floor with him due to his running abilities.

Pierre Strong (RB - CLE)

Jerome Ford suffered a low grade, high ankle sprain in last week’s game. Adam Schefter reports that he will out for one to two weeks. I’m not quite convinced that Kareem Hunt has secured the lead role. Against Indy, the running back carries were split 8 to 10 between Pierre Strong and Hunt.

Chris Rodriguez Jr. (RB - WAS)

Chris Rodriguez outgained both Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson last Sunday. But his snap counts were far below both backs at 9 snaps compared to 38 for Robinson and 34 for Gibson. I would file this under deep stash or interesting fact. This play is for the truly desperate.

Jalin Hyatt (WR - NYG)

Hyatt caught two passes for 75 yards last week. The speedy rookie has the ability to take the top off defenses. The Giants have worked him into more snaps lately. Hopefully this trend continues as Daniel Jones makes his way back from the neck injury.

Jake Bobo (WR - SEA)

Bobo filled in nicely for DK Metcalf, who was out with a hip and rib injury. He ended the day with 61 yards and a touchdown. Bobo out snapped and ran more routes than fellow rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He would be a solid pickup if Metcalf were to miss more games.
