What I’m Trying (again):
Ending Showers with a “Cold Finish”
On a recent podcast episode, Cal Newport unveiled the Deep Life Stack. This is an updated version of his Deep Life philosophy with a focus on habits that need to be developed before beginning lifestyle design. This includes building discipline, developing values, and establishing time management techniques.
I walked away from the episode with a renewed desire to improve my discipline. This involves incorporating a challenging task that I would typically avoid. For me, that task is finishing showers with a cold-water rinse. It’s uncomfortable and the health benefits are debatable. However, it helps me practice doing difficult things. Perhaps, I’ll eventually graduate to taking the entire shower with cold water.

Testing the “Impossible”: 17 Questions That Changed My Life
Tim Ferriss is renowned for analyzing situations and finding optimized solutions. How is he able to do accomplish this consistently? He credits the power of asking good questions. Fortunately for us, Ferriss shares his 17 most asked questions in this free ebook.
The questions from this book that are currently on my mind:
- What if I did the opposite for 48 hours?
- If I could only work 2 hours per week on my business, what would I do?
The two questions above are timely, as I have been questioning the time I spend on crypto and blockchain games. The questions help frame my thoughts and stress test assumptions.
What I’m Listening To:
Cool Jazz
Craig Mod is currently writing another one of his pop up newsletters. This edition focuses on Jazz Kissatens in the northern parts of Japan. His daily missives have sparked my interest in Jazz music. I found the Cool Jazz playlist on Spotify to be a good introduction to this genre.
