Thursday Thoughts - 04/07/2022

In this short newsletter, I share the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.

What I’ve Read:

How Covid Stole Our Time and How We Can Get It Back | NYTimes

Tim Urban writes this article on the time lost during the last two years of restrictions and shut downs. The piece expands on the theme of his essay The Tail End. It’s sobering to realize we don’t have as much time as we think. I might only watch another 35 Superbowl games or visit Japan 10 more times.

10 Life Changing Ideas Visualized out of Lego | Kristin Portsmouth

Ten popular self improvement ideas get reimagined with Legos in this Twitter thread. These drawings do a great job of visualizing the ideas. The graphics are fun and full of color.

What I’m Pondering:

“…you can tell how well a marriage is working by counting the bite marks on each partner’s tongue.”

Rabih Alameddine, An Unnecessary Woman

Sometimes the most compassionate thing to do is to keep your words to yourself and say nothing.
