Thursday Thoughts - 03/24/2022
In this short newsletter, I share the most interesting things that I’ve read, heard, and/or watched over the past week.
What I’ve Read:
How to Lose Money and Time | Paul Graham
I wish I read this article when it was first published in 2010. I haven’t thought about the subtle ways that time and money can slip away. I cringe when I think of the money lost on copycat NFT projects or meme tokens. I also wish I had the hours back from messing with pointless spreadsheets or inconsequential website tweaks.
What I’ve Tried:
Principles You
This personalty assessment was extensive. I took about 30 minutes to answer all the questions. It was worth the time because of the detailed insights.
I found this personality assessment to be spot on. I am a lifelong learner that likes to help others. I also agree that I’m more pragmatic with my goals instead of ambitious and risky. Here are my results.
I like this personalty tests over the Myers Briggs tests that I’ve taken in the past. The Principles You assessment does a better at explaining the results. It also breaks down the insights into different contexts and situations.
What I’m Pondering:
“Why would I think about missing a shot that I haven’t taken yet?”
Michael Jordan
This quote is a timely reminder to stay in the present. The future hasn’t happened yet, so what’s the use of worrying about it?
